Southern Skies CHALLENGE
The Southern Skies Challenge competition invited the youth (5 - 23 years) to write, draw or create other art about space science in different categories. Prizes in this competition included computers, cash prizes and visits to the construction site of the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT). In total, 445 essays, models and artworks were entered. Winners (No.1) will receive R1 000 each, and runners-up will receive R350.
Writing, drawings, other art works, digital entries, or a combination of any of these were invited in the categories below:
- Remembering (Starlore)
- Predicting (Life on Mars)
- Open Mind (Horizon beyond Earth)
