World Space Week: 4-10 October 2006


World Space Week is "to celebrate each year at the international level the contributions of space science and technology to the betterment of the human condition" (as declared by the United Nations General Assembly).

World Space Week is celebrated in South Africa in collaboration with science centres and observatories. Activities organised in the past have included rocket launches, space science shows, popular talks, making telescopes and visits to an inflatable planetarium. If your school, institution or science centre would like to participate next year, please contact the national coordinator using the "Contact Us" form above.

Last year World Space Week was celebrated in South Africa with the

SA Rocketry Camp 2006.
