SA Rocketry Camp 2006

Day 1 - Building and flying Cobra rockets

Each participant built and flew their own small Cobra rocket under the watchful eye of members of the South African Amateur Space Administration.

Each rocket had to be assembled: glued together, fins stuck on, parachute folded into the nose cone, and motor assembled and inserted.

Clearly rocket science isn't just for boys! Building the motors (above left) and mixing the fuel (above right).

The students concentrated on assembling the video rockets (above). We all learned the importance of working together (otherwise known as getting a little help from your friends)!

Waiting a turn to fly our rockets!
