SunSpace and Information Systems (Pty) Ltd (SunSpace) designs and develops small and micro-satellite systems, related support equipment and ground-based applications. SunSpace has its origins in the SUNSAT satellite programme of the University of Stellenbosch.

Denel's Aerospace Group comprises Manufacturing, Optronics, Aerospace Engineering and Logistics units. The OTB (Overberg Toetsbaan) is a newly established test facility near Cape Agulhas, specialising in aviation and missile system flight tests. It is also qualified to provide launch services for LEO (low earth orbit) satellites. Internationally, OTB was recently involved in NASA's Mars Rover mission.

ANSYS Integrated Systems specialises in the design, development, manufacture, integration and support of advanced technology systems and products for the telecom, defence, aerospace, manufacturing and transport industries.

Reunert Defence Logistics (RDL) is an engineering, manufacturing and logistic support company within the realm of its competency in telecommunications, fare collection systems, radar and weapons systems electronics. RDL is also known for the design, manufacture and support of world-class Gun and Fire control systems for Fighting vehicles and Naval Gun Systems.

Spectrem Air is a small group of geophysicists and engineers developing and operating airborne time-domain electromagnetic (EM) prospecting systems. Their systems are usually used for mineral exploration but can also be used for other fields like environmental investigation.

Rotek Engineering is one of the largest maintenance engineering concerns in Southern Africa. Specialised project management teams, supported by comprehensive project management systems provide vital support services to utilities, local authorities and a diversity of industries throughout Southern Africa and, in recent years, as far afield as Uganda and Kenya.

Thales Advanced Engineering has specialised in the field of video processing and data communications since 1987. In particular Thales has concentrated on Defence Systems for the SANDF but has also built a strong presence in the commercial security and specialised imaging markets. Core competencies include System Engineering, High Speed Digital Design, Image Processing and Data Communications.
