The naked-eye view of the night sky is one thing we, as citizens of the 21st Century, have in common with our ancestors of thousands of years ago. Yet some of the greatest distinguishing features of our time are a wealth of scientific knowledge, the exploration of the universe, and the use of space in our daily lives.

The left hand menu bar provides links to some of the exciting programmes being undertaken in South Africa to explore and understand our universe in the fields of astronomy and space physics, as well as some of the successes of international ventures.
